Anja Rubik: Aesthetics Meet Activism
Anja Rubik is a supermodel, activist and creative director – and a voice that brings together fashion, visibility and social change. At the new headquarters of her foundation SEXEDPL, that mindset takes shape in a space that is open, warm, thoughtfully curated and designed for conversations that can make a difference.

A Room for Change

SEXEDPL arose from the lack of honest, science-based sex education in Poland. The foundation aims to provide young people with access to knowledge about bodies, relationships, sexuality, reproduction, safety, human rights, and gender equality. It focuses on education, support, and breaking down taboos surrounding sexual health, as well as sexual and psychological violence.

Red as a Common Thread

Throughout the office, red becomes the visual signature. The foundation's colour appears repeatedly – as a reference to love, heart, and the values at the core of its mission. Set against a calm backdrop of soft furniture, light surfaces, and warm materials, the accents appear clear and energetic, but never too loud.

'Because of my work in fashion, visual elements are extremely important to me. I enjoy being surrounded by beautiful things, and it was also important to me that my foundation should, in a way, be an extension of that.'

Not an Office. A Home for Ideas.

The most important design decision was to avoid the feel of a traditional office. Instead, the spaces are arranged more like an apartment, with sofas, comfortable seating, and areas where people are not automatically tied to a desk. The result is an atmosphere that encourages closeness and makes meaningful exchange easier.

Main Room. Main Mission.

The main room is the heart of the foundation’s daily life – a place where the team gathers, exchanges ideas, and moves projects forward. Pinboards showcase past and ongoing initiatives, snapshots of team life, and words of encouragement. Less a meeting room than a living archive, the space acts as the organisation’s collective memory.

Carefully curated

Every lamp, table, and sofa was chosen with intention – and each one brings Anja joy. Every piece is meant to make the space feel more welcoming and open. While the overall look remains clean and fashion-forward, playful rugs and personal touches add just the right amount of lightness and warmth.

The second Heart

As in any apartment, the kitchen here is more than just a functional space. It's a place for breaks, a meeting point, and the start of conversations. While ideas are being sorted in the main room, the informal closeness that holds a team together on a daily basis develops here.

Serious Business

The Serious Room serves as a quiet counterpart to the more social spaces within the office. It is where the foundation’s leadership team works on strategy, key decisions, and next steps. While more focused than the open areas, it remains part of an interior that balances structure with warmth and humanity.

'I feel strongest when I feel safe and empowered to use my voice – when I’m able to stand up for the things I believe in.'

'To me, Live Beautiful means being free and living with empathy. It’s about courage, too – not perfection. I believe beauty lies in the small imperfections. And, you know, simply living your own truth.'
